ISQGD Books welcomes book proposals from authors worldwide, including authors with no prior affiliation with ISQGD. We are interested in rigorous and accessible scholarly books that can make a meaningful contribution to education, research, or professional practice.
Submit a Book Proposal
Prospective authors and editors should begin by completing the official ISQGD Books Book Proposal Form. The proposal allows ISQGD Books to evaluate the academic purpose, intended readership, scope, distinctiveness, feasibility, and international relevance of the proposed book before a publication project moves forward.
Please identify the most appropriate division and the intended educational level, including school grade or age range where applicable. Interdisciplinary proposals may identify additional relevant divisions.
The form requests the proposed title and scope, author/editor information, intended audience and academic level, a detailed contents or chapter plan, comparable books, manuscript status, expected length and completion date, supporting materials, and relevant rights or permissions information.
Supporting material: Please include a detailed table of contents and chapter synopses. A sample chapter or substantial sample material is strongly encouraged when available.
Books from School Level to Advanced Research
School teachers, educators, researchers, and authors worldwide are welcome to submit proposals. We consider school textbooks, activity and enrichment books, teacher guides, university textbooks, lecture texts, professional references, research monographs, and interdisciplinary scholarly works. Please specify the intended school grade, age range, or academic level where applicable.
ISQGD Books Editorial Leadership
ISQGD Books has six divisions, listed in the following order: Mathematics; Physics; Chemistry; Engineering; Probability, Statistics, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence; and Education and Pedagogy. Together, these divisions cover school-level books, undergraduate and graduate textbooks, advanced lecture texts, professional references, research monographs, and other scholarly and educational works appropriate to their respective fields. The Education and Pedagogy Division specifically addresses teaching and learning across disciplines, including hands-on and cooperative learning, curriculum, assessment, teacher education, educational technology, educational systems, access, and policy. Technology-focused and interdisciplinary works are considered within the division most appropriate to their primary subject matter.
Professor Carlo Cattani serves as General Editor of ISQGD Books and as Editor-in-Chief of Mathematics and Education and Pedagogy. He initially leads Education and Pedagogy; a separate Editor-in-Chief may be appointed as that division grows.
The ISQGD Books Editorial Board provides scholarly guidance and supports the academic quality, editorial integrity, independent evaluation standards, and long-term development of the publishing program. The Board brings together experienced scholars from different institutions, countries, and areas of expertise.
Editorial appointments, academic affiliations, contact information, and the General Editor, division Editors-in-Chief, and division editors are maintained on the official Editorial Board page so that authors and readers can always consult a single, up-to-date source.
Editorial Review and Final Decision
- Submission to the General Editor. All book proposals are first submitted to the General Editor of ISQGD Books for an initial assessment of their suitability, educational or scholarly merit, and alignment with the publishing program.
- Evaluation by the corresponding division. If a proposal is suitable for further consideration, the General Editor refers it to the Editor-in-Chief of the corresponding division, who coordinates the appropriate editorial assessment and independent expert review and submits a reasoned recommendation to the General Editor.
- Decision on the proposal. The General Editor decides whether to approve or reject the proposal, taking into account the division Editor-in-Chief’s recommendation and relevant evaluations. Approval of a proposal allows the project to proceed to manuscript development and evaluation; it does not constitute acceptance of the completed book for publication.
- Evaluation of the completed manuscript. The completed manuscript, including any required revisions, undergoes the applicable editorial and independent review process. The division Editor-in-Chief then submits a recommendation concerning its acceptance or rejection.
- Final decision and formal letter. The General Editor makes the final decision to accept or reject the completed manuscript, after considering the division Editor-in-Chief’s recommendation, reviewer reports, and the author’s responses and revisions. The General Editor issues the formal acceptance or rejection letter to the author. A manuscript is accepted for publication only when the General Editor has issued a formal written acceptance letter. Recommendations or communications from division editors or reviewers do not constitute final acceptance.
All stages of this process remain subject to ISQGD Books’ editorial independence and conflict-of-interest policies.
The reviewer form is provided for transparency and for experts formally invited by ISQGD Books. Reviewers should return completed evaluations directly to the editor who invited the review.
Independent Evaluation and Editorial Independence
ISQGD Books is committed to rigorous, independent, and transparent editorial procedures. Book publishing evaluation is adapted to the nature and stage of the project. Independent expert assessment normally begins with the book proposal and may later include selected chapters, specialist review, pedagogical review, full-manuscript review, or another appropriate form of manuscript evaluation.
Authors who are ISQGD officers, Board Directors, Editorial Board members, or otherwise closely involved with the publishing program do not participate in the handling, reviewing, or publication decision concerning their own manuscripts.
Author Royalties
Under the standard ISQGD Books model, authors ordinarily receive 40% of Distributable Net Revenue from sales of their books, subject to the applicable publishing agreement.
Distributable Net Revenue is calculated after clearly defined and permitted publication, transaction, production, and distribution costs have been accounted for. Book-specific one-time production costs cease to be deducted after they have been fully recovered.
Each accepted book is governed by a written publishing agreement specifying pricing, royalties, rights, formats, accounting, approved deductions, complimentary copies, revisions, and other relevant terms.
Reasonable Worldwide Pricing
ISQGD Books seeks to keep electronic and print editions reasonably priced while maintaining professional production standards and a sustainable publishing program. Pricing is determined in consultation with the author and reflects the book's format, production requirements, distribution arrangements, and intended readership.
Author Agreements, Copyright, and Permissions
Authors are responsible for the originality of their work and for securing permission to reproduce any third-party material requiring authorization. Copyright and publishing rights are addressed in the formal author agreement for each title.
ISQGD Books seeks transparent agreements that clearly state the responsibilities of both the author and the publisher.
Digital and Print Editions
ISQGD Books follows a digital-first publishing model. Where appropriate, accepted titles may also be offered as paperback or hardcover editions through professional print-on-demand and distribution services. Authors are not expected to manage physical inventory, packing, or fulfillment on behalf of ISQGD Books. Format availability and production arrangements are determined for each title as part of the publishing process.

What is ISQGD Books?
ISQGD Books is the scholarly book-publishing program of the International Society for Quality Growth and Development (ISQGD). It considers high-quality textbooks, research monographs, lecture texts, advanced educational books, and interdisciplinary scholarly works within its academic scope.
Who may submit a book proposal?
Authors from around the world are welcome to submit proposals. Prior membership in or affiliation with ISQGD is not required.
May authors suggest reviewers?
Yes. The Book Proposal Form asks authors to suggest 2–3 qualified experts who could evaluate the proposal. Suggestions are advisory only: ISQGD Books may choose different or additional reviewers. Authors should disclose any relevant relationship and should not suggest individuals whose relationship could reasonably compromise, or appear to compromise, independent evaluation.
How are book proposals and manuscripts independently evaluated?
Every proposal first receives an initial assessment by the General Editor. If it is suitable for further consideration, it is referred to the Editor-in-Chief of the corresponding division, who coordinates the appropriate editorial assessment and independent expert review and may assign a handling editor to assist with that process. The division Editor-in-Chief then submits a reasoned recommendation to the General Editor, who makes the proposal decision. If the proposal is approved, the division Editor-in-Chief determines and coordinates the appropriate subsequent manuscript evaluation, which may include selected-chapter review, specialist review, pedagogical review, full-manuscript review, or a combination of these approaches. After manuscript evaluation and any required revision, the division Editor-in-Chief submits a recommendation concerning acceptance or rejection, and the General Editor makes the final decision.
What happens if an ISQGD officer, Director, editor, or Editorial Board member submits a book?
The proposal and manuscript are handled with appropriate editorial independence. An author closely connected with ISQGD Books does not control the evaluation of his or her own work and has no role in the editorial recommendation or publication decision concerning that work. A conflicted editor is recused and an appropriately independent editor is assigned in accordance with the conflict-of-interest policy. If the General Editor is personally conflicted, an appropriately qualified independent senior editor is formally designated to act as General Editor for that project, including the applicable decision-making and formal-letter functions.
Who is the publisher of an accepted book?
ISQGD Books is the publisher. External companies or platforms may provide electronic delivery, retail, printing, print-on-demand, fulfillment, or distribution services. The use of such services does not change the publisher of record.
Will books receive ISBNs and professional bibliographic information?
Applicable book formats will receive appropriate ISBNs and bibliographic metadata as part of the ISQGD Books publication process. Different formats may require separate identifiers. ISQGD Books intends to maintain its publishing identity and bibliographic records under the ISQGD Books imprint.
How are electronic books distributed?
ISQGD Books follows a digital-first publishing model. Electronic editions may be made available through ISQGD and established third-party retail and distribution platforms, as appropriate for the title and readership.
Can a book also be available in print?
Yes. Where appropriate, paperback and/or hardcover editions may be offered through professional print-on-demand and fulfillment services. This allows physical copies to be produced in response to orders without requiring a large advance print run.
How are physical copies printed and shipped?
When print-on-demand is used, an authorized service provider may print an individual copy after an order is placed and ship it directly to the purchaser. This provides access to physical editions while reducing unnecessary inventory, storage, and fulfillment costs.
May books be available through Amazon?
Yes. ISQGD Books may use Amazon and other established international distribution channels where appropriate. The channels selected may vary according to the title, format, readership, territorial rights, and distribution requirements.
If Amazon or another platform sells the book, does that company become the publisher?
No. A retailer, electronic-delivery platform, printer, print-on-demand provider, or fulfillment service may assist with distribution, but ISQGD Books remains the publisher of works published under the ISQGD Books imprint.
How are authors compensated?
Under the standard ISQGD Books model, authors ordinarily receive 40% of Distributable Net Revenue from sales of their books, subject to the applicable publishing agreement.
What is Distributable Net Revenue?
Distributable Net Revenue is the amount remaining from receipts attributable to the sale of a book after clearly defined and contractually permitted publication, transaction, production, and distribution costs have been accounted for. The detailed calculation and payment terms are specified in the applicable publishing agreement.
Are one-time production costs deducted indefinitely?
No. Approved book-specific one-time production costs cease to be deducted after they have been fully recovered. Genuine continuing costs associated with transactions, printing, fulfillment, platforms, or distribution may continue where applicable and as provided in the publishing agreement.
Who owns the copyright?
ISQGD Books generally favors arrangements in which authors retain copyright while granting ISQGD Books the publishing rights necessary to produce, distribute, market, archive, and make the work available in the agreed formats. The exact rights and responsibilities are established in the individual publishing agreement.
Will authors be expected to manage printing, inventory, packing, or shipping?
Ordinarily, no. Where professional print-on-demand and fulfillment services are used, physical production and shipment can be handled by the applicable service provider. Specific arrangements may vary by title and distribution channel.
What quality standards apply to published books?
Accepted books are expected to meet appropriate standards for scholarly accuracy, editing, typography, mathematical notation where applicable, figures and tables, references, cover preparation, metadata, proof review, accessibility, and format-specific production quality.
What is the usual path from proposal to publication?
Book Proposal to the General Editor → Divisional Editorial and Independent Expert Evaluation → Recommendation by the Division Editor-in-Chief → Proposal Decision by the General Editor → Manuscript Development and Appropriate Manuscript Evaluation → Recommendation by the Division Editor-in-Chief → Final Decision and Formal Letter from the General Editor → Professional Production → ISBN and Metadata Preparation → Publication and Distribution.
Does an invitation to submit a manuscript guarantee publication?
No. An invitation to submit a proposal, sample material, or full manuscript does not constitute final acceptance. A completed manuscript is accepted only after the applicable editorial and independent review requirements have been satisfied and the General Editor has issued a formal written acceptance letter.
