ISQGD Books welcomes book proposals from authors worldwide, including authors with no prior affiliation with ISQGD. We are interested in rigorous and accessible scholarly books that can make a meaningful contribution to education, research, or professional practice.
What to Include in a Book Proposal
A proposal should provide enough information for the Editorial Board to understand the book's academic purpose, audience, scope, and distinctive contribution. Please include:
- Proposed title and subtitle
- Author or editor names, affiliations, and contact information
- A concise overview of the book and its principal objectives
- Intended readership and academic level
- Proposed table of contents
- Estimated manuscript length and current completion status
- Expected completion date, if the manuscript is not yet complete
- Discussion of comparable books and the distinctive contribution of the proposed work
- A sample chapter or substantial sample material
- Information regarding figures, tables, permissions, software, datasets, or supplementary material
ISQGD Books Editorial Leadership
The ISQGD Books Editorial Board provides scholarly guidance and supports the academic quality, editorial integrity, peer-review standards, and long-term development of the publishing program. The Board brings together experienced scholars from different institutions, countries, and areas of expertise.
Editorial appointments, academic affiliations, contact information, and the current Editor-in-Chief are maintained on the official Editorial Board page so that authors and readers can always consult a single, up-to-date source.
How the Review Process Works
- Initial proposal screening. The proposal is reviewed for scope, academic suitability, intended readership, and readiness.
- Handling editor assignment. A suitable editor with relevant subject expertise is assigned.
- Independent external review. The proposal or manuscript is normally evaluated by qualified reviewers with appropriate expertise.
- Author revision. Authors may be asked to respond to reviewer and editorial comments and revise the manuscript.
- Editorial recommendation. The handling editor makes a recommendation based on the reviews and the revised manuscript.
- Publication decision. An authorized independent editor makes the final academic decision according to ISQGD Books policy.
- Production and publication. Accepted manuscripts proceed to production, metadata, identifiers, pricing, and distribution arrangements.
Peer Review and Editorial Independence
ISQGD Books is committed to rigorous, independent, and transparent editorial procedures. The review process is adapted to the nature of the book and may involve proposal review, full-manuscript review, or both.
Authors who are ISQGD officers, Board Directors, Editorial Board members, or otherwise closely involved with the publishing program do not participate in the handling, reviewing, or publication decision concerning their own manuscripts.
Author Royalties
Under the standard ISQGD Books model, authors ordinarily receive 40% of Distributable Net Revenue from sales of their books, subject to the applicable publishing agreement.
Distributable Net Revenue is calculated after clearly defined and permitted publication, transaction, production, and distribution costs have been accounted for. Book-specific one-time production costs cease to be deducted after they have been fully recovered.
Each accepted book is governed by a written publishing agreement specifying pricing, royalties, rights, formats, accounting, approved deductions, complimentary copies, revisions, and other relevant terms.
Reasonable Worldwide Pricing
ISQGD Books seeks to keep electronic and print editions reasonably priced while maintaining professional production standards and a sustainable publishing program. Pricing is determined in consultation with the author and reflects the book's format, production requirements, distribution arrangements, and intended readership.
Author Agreements, Copyright, and Permissions
Authors are responsible for the originality of their work and for securing permission to reproduce any third-party material requiring authorization. Copyright and publishing rights are addressed in the formal author agreement for each title.
ISQGD Books seeks transparent agreements that clearly state the responsibilities of both the author and the publisher.
Digital and Print Editions
ISQGD Books follows a digital-first publishing model. Where appropriate, accepted titles may also be offered as paperback or hardcover editions through professional print-on-demand and distribution services. Authors are not expected to manage physical inventory, packing, or fulfillment on behalf of ISQGD Books. Format availability and production arrangements are determined for each title as part of the publishing process.

What is ISQGD Books?
ISQGD Books is the official scholarly publisher of the International Society for Quality Growth and Development (ISQGD). It is the Society’s book-publishing program and considers high-quality textbooks, research monographs, lecture texts, advanced educational books, and interdisciplinary scholarly works within its academic scope.
Who may submit a book proposal?
Authors from around the world are welcome to submit proposals. Prior membership in or affiliation with ISQGD is not required.
Are books independently peer reviewed?
Yes. Books considered for scholarly publication undergo an editorial evaluation and independent external peer review appropriate to the nature of the work. Substantial scholarly textbooks and monographs ordinarily receive at least two independent external reviews before a final publication decision, subject to the detailed peer-review policy.
What happens if an ISQGD officer, Director, editor, or Editorial Board member submits a book?
The manuscript is handled with appropriate editorial independence. An author closely connected with ISQGD Books does not control the evaluation of his or her own work and has no role in the publication decision concerning that manuscript. An independent editor is assigned in accordance with the conflict-of-interest policy.
Who is the publisher of an accepted book?
ISQGD Books is the publisher. External companies or platforms may provide electronic delivery, retail, printing, print-on-demand, fulfillment, or distribution services. The use of such services does not change the publisher of record.
Will books receive ISBNs and professional bibliographic information?
Applicable book formats will receive appropriate ISBNs and bibliographic metadata as part of the ISQGD Books publication process. Different formats may require separate identifiers. ISQGD Books intends to maintain its publishing identity and bibliographic records under the ISQGD Books imprint.
How are electronic books distributed?
ISQGD Books follows a digital-first publishing model. Electronic editions may be made available through ISQGD and established third-party retail and distribution platforms, as appropriate for the title and readership.
Can a book also be available in print?
Yes. Where appropriate, paperback and/or hardcover editions may be offered through professional print-on-demand and fulfillment services. This allows physical copies to be produced in response to orders without requiring a large advance print run.
How are physical copies printed and shipped?
When print-on-demand is used, an authorized service provider may print an individual copy after an order is placed and ship it directly to the purchaser. This provides access to physical editions while reducing unnecessary inventory, storage, and fulfillment costs.
May books be available through Amazon?
Yes. ISQGD Books may use Amazon and other established international distribution channels where appropriate. The channels selected may vary according to the title, format, readership, territorial rights, and distribution requirements.
If Amazon or another platform sells the book, does that company become the publisher?
No. A retailer, electronic-delivery platform, printer, print-on-demand provider, or fulfillment service may assist with distribution, but ISQGD Books remains the publisher of works published under the ISQGD Books imprint.
How are authors compensated?

Distributable Net Revenue is the amount remaining from receipts attributable to the sale of a book after clearly defined and contractually permitted publication, transaction, production, and distribution costs have been accounted for. Are one-time production costs deducted indefinitely?
No. Approved book-specific one-time production costs cease to be deducted after they have been fully recovered. Genuine continuing costs associated with transactions, printing, fulfillment, platforms, or distribution may continue where applicable and as provided in the publishing agreement.
Who owns the copyright?
ISQGD Books generally favors arrangements in which authors retain copyright while granting ISQGD Books the publishing rights necessary to produce, distribute, market, archive, and make the work available in the agreed formats. The exact rights and responsibilities are established in the individual publishing agreement.
Will authors be expected to manage printing, inventory, packing, or shipping?
Ordinarily, no. Where professional print-on-demand and fulfillment services are used, physical production and shipment can be handled by the applicable service provider. Specific arrangements may vary by title and distribution channel.
What quality standards apply to published books?
Accepted books are expected to meet appropriate standards for scholarly accuracy, editing, typography, mathematical notation where applicable, figures and tables, references, cover preparation, metadata, proof review, accessibility, and format-specific production quality.
What is the usual path from proposal to publication?

Does an invitation to submit a manuscript guarantee publication?
No. An invitation to submit a proposal, sample material, or full manuscript does not constitute final acceptance. Publication depends on satisfactory completion of the applicable editorial, peer-review, revision, and production processes.
