Artificial intelligence is rapidly influencing modern mathematical research and reshaping the ways mathematicians explore problems, verify proofs, and discover new ideas. Recent developments in large language models and AI-assisted reasoning systems have demonstrated surprising capabilities in solving nontrivial mathematical problems, including classical questions proposed by Paul Erdős. At the same time, these advances raise important questions concerning mathematical creativity, rigor, verification, human understanding, and the future role of mathematicians in the research process. This discussion article highlights recent progress in AI-assisted mathematics, summarizes key perspectives presented in contemporary scientific discussions, and reflects on the opportunities and challenges that artificial intelligence may bring to the future of mathematical discovery and education.
